19th-Century French Copper Fish Poacher with Lid (Dovetailed, Tin-Lined)
Substantial 19th-century French copper fish poacher (circa 1850-1880), hand-formed with dovetailed seams and fitted with its original lid and brass knob. The interior is tin-lined with visible evidence of historic repair from long use in a working French kitchen. Classic elongated form designed for poaching whole fish such as trout, pike or salmon.
Condition: Heavy patina, age-related surface wear, and an old repair to the underside seam. Tin lining shows wear consistent with functional use. May be professionally re-tinned upon request or enjoyed decoratively. Offered as found.
