Shop Policies
Shipping & Handling
All items are carefully packed to ensure they arrive safely. Once your order is prepared, you’ll receive tracking information. International customs duties or import taxes (if applicable) are the responsibility of the buyer.
Free Shipping Items
Smaller and medium-weight items include shipping within the continental U.S. If an item qualifies, you will see “Shipping included” noted in the “Includes” line of the listing.
The price you see is the total price.
Heavy or Oversized Items
Items that are large, fragile, or heavy (such as copper cookware, cutting boards, iron pieces, or machinery) are shipped at carrier cost. Shipping is billed separately after packing, based on final weight and dimensions. I do not mark up shipping fees. A small packing/materials charge may apply.
Local Pickup
Local pickup is available by appointment in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Timing
Orders typically ship within 2-3 business days. Large items may require additional packing time.
Damaged in Transit
If a package arrives damaged, please contact me at afrenchantiqueaffair@gmail.com within 48 hours of delivery with clear photos of the box, packaging, and the item itself. This documentation is required to file a claim with the carrier. Refunds or replacements are handled once the claim is approved. Please do not discard any packaging materials until the claim is resolved.
Returns & Exchanges
Because each piece is antique or vintage, all sales are considered final. I always describe items carefully and photograph them honestly so you know exactly what you are receiving. If you have questions before purchasing, I am always happy to help.
Cancellations
Orders may be canceled within 12 hours of purchase as long as they have not yet been packed or shipped. Once an item is shipped, cancellations are no longer possible.
Antique & Vintage Disclaimer
These pieces carry age, use, and character. Patina, minor wear, and imperfections are part of their history and are not considered flaws. Please review all photos and descriptions before purchasing.
Re-tinning & Copper Care
Some antique French copper pieces in my shop retain their original tinning, while others may have been re-tinned at some point in their lifetime. I always note the current condition of the tin in each listing so you know exactly what you are receiving.
Collectors often prefer original surfaces for display or for historical integrity, while cooks may choose to have their copper retained before use. If you wish to retin a piece after purchase, I can recommend a trusted professional service such as Rocky Mountain Re-tinning, or you may choose any craftsman you prefer.
Feel free to reach out with questions about tinning, suitability for cooking, or recommendations.
